from cliffs and above
the fruited stars unfold wispy as before
when I last saw them in dark circle of your arms
the sand under us
the reminder of earth
and where we will return
your breath of rum and cinnamon
giving kisses freely, openly to me
it is there on the sand, in the moon, near the cliff
where you said you would not come with me, and you cried
we spent the night together
coming undone again and again
I awoke early and walked to the boat waiting at the water
you feigned sleep, but you watched me walk away, then float away
you saw the sail lift
and kept the dot on the horizon in your heart forever
